The unemployment rate is a great market indicator for the future market. As long as employment numbers are strong, mortgages will be paid and manufactured items will be purchased.

Adam's Insight: A the new year begins we are still in a healthy market. Our national unemployment rate is holding in the 4% range. A healthy market is 3.5% to 6%, this means that it is still easy to find work.

Adam's Insight: The interest rate directly affects Alaska homes sales pricing and other statistics. 6.15% seems high to our generation, however when I was born the interest rate was 13%. The higher interest rate meant that home values were low and affordable to handle a high interest rate. The low interest rates for the last few years have inflated home values which created an interesting market. When the #FED increased rates above 5% the market stabilized. I believe that in 2026 we will see rates drop again, the president is pushing to change the #FED management and reduce rates to spur a market increase.
