Unemployment Rates
The unemployment rate is a great market indicator for the future market. As long as employment numbers are strong, mortgages will be paid and manufactured items will be purchased.

Adam's Insight: The last 6 years have been pretty wild. From the Covid-19 pandemic with unemployment rates hitting the 15% to early 2024 with rates as low as 3.1%. In the last year the United States has arrested a sitting president and started a war in Iran, yet our unemployment rate is holding at a safe 4.4%. While the world is in a gas crisis, our fuel costs have only slightly risen.

Adam's Insight: In 2022 the national interest rates increased from 2.8% to 6.00%. This increase slowed the real estate market down and assisted with slowing inflation. The interest rate has not significantly changed since 2022. There were a few peaks up to about 7.8%. When looking at the interest rates it shows a stable market. Gas prices have leveled however I feel like grocery prices are still increasing. I do not see a reduction in interest rates in the future. Mat-Su Valley home sales will increase with spring and summer and the current interest rate will not inhibit sales.
