Summer in Alaska means long sunny days and fresh produce. We love supporting local small businesses (and stocking up our kitchen) by attending the Matanuska Community Farmers Market every Wednesday. The farmers market is open from 4pm to 7pm weekly in the United Protestant Church parking lot and is a great Alaska activity for adults and kids. It's located at 713 S Denali Street in downtown Palmer, AK. Parking is easy and you can make it an evening by grabbing dinner at one of the walkable restaurants nearby.
Whether you are looking for fresh, organic produce or amazing baked goods, the Matanuska Community Farmers Market has something for everyone. Some of our favorite vendors are:
Delaney's Sourdough - besides delicious loaves, don't miss the sourdough English muffins and brown butter chocolate chip cookies.
For farm fresh eggs and whole fresh (frozen) chickens, be sure to stop by the Healing Acre Farm booth. They'll give you cooking tips for the most delicious roasted chicken.

Mosquito Mama has the best balsamic dressing! Their made-in-Alaska Borealis Berry Balsamic Buzzzz dressing goes great on the fresh greens that you can buy from multiple produce vendors at the farmers market, but there are so many other ways to use it. Buying from Mosquito Mama is a fun experience because each bottle comes with a custom charm. There's sure to be one in the group that is calling your name.
Whether you are looking for fresh produce, locally roasted coffee, or yummy baked goods, the Matanuska Community Farmers Market has you covered.
